Here’s a sneaky peek at some of the toys available for preview borrowing on the night…
Melody Mix (12 m+) Hard to choose which musical instrument is best for your kids? Why would you pick only one while you could pick a whole orchestra? Let them compose their own symphony or make some rich noise.

Science Lab Set (3+) Ready to spark your kids imagination and tickle their curiosity? High quality plastic tools and 10 easy to follow activity cards, kids will experience the fun of science and you might even learn something with them!

Space Pinball (3+)
Having troubles with long hours screen times? This is your life saver! It's retro fun with hidden education and development. Improve fine motor skills, take turns, problem solve and calculate!

See you there, Tuesday 1st August  7.30-9.00pm at Main Branch.

Check out these holidays suggestions...
There’s some great Yarra Libraries activities in the school holiday program, like Dreadful Dragons! 2-3pm Monday 3rd July, Richmond Library. Most events are free but do require bookings so check out what’s on in your favourite library… www.eventbrite.com.au/o/yarra-libraries

Docklands Firelight Festival
Firelight will take place on NewQuay Promenade from 30 June to 2 July from 5-9pm. This is a FREE event. Each night, the festivities will culminate with an impressive fire display – a large effigy will be set alight with a fireworks display as the backdrop. www.whatson.melbourne.vic.gov.au/Whatson

Beer Connoisseurs
If you a struggling to balance a passion for good beer and your child minding obligations, a good compromise would be to visit Hopscotch (4/2 Riverside Quay, Southbank). As well as having many fine brews on tap, they also have a good food range. Best of all it is kid friendly. They provide various play items and a big chalk board out the back to unleash their artistic side (and maybe even yours).

Looking for more family friendly music?
Did you know Pandora Internet Radio has numerous stations especially for children? Pandora is a streaming and automated music recommendation service accessed through the website or an app available for both android and apple devices. It plays a continual stream of music of a certain genre (a station) based on your ongoing feedback (thumbs up or down for each song). You can create your own stations by suggesting tracks/artists or choose from the 100s of existing stations in every genre. For families there are lots of stations including Disney, musicals, PG comedy, tween pop, lullabies, and toddler nursery rhymes.
The free version has ads but they are not too obtrusive. It uses quite a lot of data so it is best accessed using Wi-Fi. www.pandora.com

Have a great school holiday break and don't forget we’re open for business as usual.
Remember if you’re having a clean out over the holidays we would love your unwanted toys you may have grown out of. Bring them in or speak to Jaime or Ayse about getting a pick up. It’s a great way to recycle and nice to know you can borrow them back again if you just want one last play! (Please ensure they are suitable for our range from 0 to 8 years of age, durable, in good working order and able to be cleaned… no soft toys thanks)
